Inaugural Gala Raises over $22,000 for Library Programs and Services

INNISFIL, ON (March 6, 2024) Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of its February 29 fundraiser, Spark: An Evening of Creativity and Imagination. In a tremendous showing of support and community spirit, the Library has raised over $22,000 through its inaugural fundraising event.

“We are extremely grateful for this exceptional outpouring of generosity from organizations, businesses and individuals from across the community,” said Innisfil Public Library Board Chair, Anne Smith. “These funds will create incredible opportunities for our community that go above and beyond regular library programs.”

The gala transformed the Library’s Lakeshore Branch into a glittering event space bustling with activities and entertainment. Highlights of the night included keynote speaker, author and CBC host, Elamin Abdelmahmoud, a Book and Wine pairing experience with authors Hannah Mary McKinnon, Farah Heron and Thea Lim, local artists Jeanette Luchese and Maria Kelebeev, and musical entertainment from Jazz-Mandhu. Guests were invited to explore creations and technological experiences in the Library’s world-class maker spaces.

The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library extends special thanks to Gold Sponsor, Horodynsky Farms and Silver Sponsor, Tempo Flexible Packaging, for being community champions, and partnering to ignite change in the community. The Library is grateful for the support of the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who contributed financially, as well as those who generously donated in-kind services and items for silent auctions and other prizes.

The funds raised will go towards Library programs and services aligned with key areas of need: supporting Innisfil’s growing senior population, newcomers to the community, and opportunities for youth. The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is dedicated to maximizing the impact of every dollar raised, ensuring that our library continues to foster social connections, nurture lifelong learning, and meet community needs.
