Placing a Hold

You may place holds on nearly all Library materials. We will contact you by phone or email when items are ready for pick-up. We will keep your items on hold for one week. We will hold video games, Blu-ray and DVDs for 2 days, not including days the Library is closed. If you do not pick up your holds, they are passed on to the next person who has put them on hold or returned to the shelves. If you are unable to pick up your holds within the time period, you may request the items again.

Most library materials may be renewed three (3) times. Video Games, Blu-ray and DVDs may only be renewed one (1) time.

All Library materials must be returned before closing time on the day they are due.

High demand materials, such as best sellers, magazines and school project resources, may be restricted to loan periods of less than three weeks.

DVDs are renewable once for a total loan of up to 2 weeks.
All print books are renewable three times for their full loan period for a total loan of up to 9 weeks for books without holds.

Overdue Fines

The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library no longer charges overdue fines on books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and games. We know that you do your best to bring things back before the due date, but sometimes life gets in the way. That shouldn’t mean you can’t use your Library.

You will no longer be charged a daily fee when materials are returned late. You’re still responsible for returning materials. If they are 3 weeks late, you’ll be billed for the replacement fee.

Bring them back before they’re 6 weeks late, and the replacement fees will disappear: you won’t owe us anything

See our Fine Free FAQs page for more information

Overdue Notification

You are responsible for returning Library materials on time. If you are set up for email notification, as a reminder, you will receive a pre-overdue notice three days before your due date. Please speak with Library staff if you are interested in activating email notification for your account.

Lost or Damaged Materials

Lost/damaged materials are billed at rates established by the Innisfil Public Library Board. Payment for lost or damaged materials is NOT refundable. Please do not purchase replacement items as they will not be accepted by the Library.
