The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will be hosting our 10th annual MakerFEST on Saturday September 14th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Rd.) Free to attend, MakerFEST is a community show-and-tell event to highlight local talent and create community connections.
Dive into a world where imagination knows no bounds, from virtual reality to dynamic dinosaurs, bakers to makers, creative minds coming together to explore new ideas. Join a community of passionate makers, gain new knowledge, and be wowed by the impressive projects on display. There’s something for the whole family, from family storytime, green screen photos, HackLAB drop-in, Ozobot Robot Coding, and a fun fall crafting activity. You can also spin the wheel, win a prize and grab your free bag of popcorn!

Innisfil AI (artistic intelligence) at MakerFEST featuring Upchuckle Education
Exercise your imagination with Upchuckle Education in the ThinkLAB for a fun and interactive drawing workshop with Random Drawing Prompts! Learn some drawing tips & tricks and submit your community prompts for our local artists to bring to life this fall.

BRIX Makerspace
Visit this group of local maker enthusiasts! They will showcase some of their maker projects including: a custom-built mini 3D printer, automata kits, a stationary bike you can pedal to light up, and more!

Utilizing the precision of an Elegoo Phecda laser cutter and engraver, each piece tells a story of creativity and meticulous artistry, making every accessory a unique and charming addition to any ensemble.
Sweet Honey Catering
Sweet Honey Catering is a 2 spirited 2 Afro-indigenous family business bringing unique flavours to your pallet from brownie bars in buttery pecan, double chocolate, and macadamia white chocolate; blueberry pastry puffs with lemon custard filling; bannock cinnamon bites; mini peach cobbler tarts; and jumbo bourbon chocolate pecan cookies. Join Sweet Honey Catering to learn how to pipe flowers on cupcakes, don’t forget the sprinkles!
Unveiling the Seven Feathers Collaborative Art Project
Throughout the summer, community members have been colouring paper feathers, designed by local Indigenous artist, April Paul. These vibrant feathers have come together to form two large, rainbow-colored wings. Visitors are encouraged to snap a photo and are also invited to color an orange feather in reflection of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, which will be displayed at the Lakeshore Branch throughout September.
