From July 2 to September 29, eight Simcoe County libraries are coming together to celebrate Canadian authors through this exciting county-wide reading challenge. Each participating library has selected a unique Canadian title to champion, offering a diverse mix of fiction and non-fiction. Read one book or read them all, the choice is yours!

After you’ve read the books, join us for the Simcoe Reads Grand Finale on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the General John Hayter South Shore Community Centre (205 Lakeshore Drive, Barrie). Watch the eight community champions defend their chosen books in a lively debate, then cast your vote for the one book you think everyone in Simcoe County should read.
