The Library uses social media to share information about our programs, services, materials, resources, and events, including those related to partner collaboration to stay connected with our community. Our goal is to create a welcoming, respectful, and safe online space that reflects the Library’s mission, vision, and values.
We encourage meaningful conversation among users, community partners, and Library staff. Everyone is welcome to like and comment on posts and take part in respectful discussions about Library services, programs, and experiences. Library employees monitor our social media channels to keep them safe for everyone. Any content that violates the Library’s Rules of Conduct or applicable laws including the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Criminal Code of Canada, the Copyright Act, or the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act will be removed.
You are responsible for what you post. By participating in Library social media spaces, you agree that the Library and its staff are not liable for any claims related to your content and should be aware that they may be held personally liable for commentary that is defamatory, obscene, proprietary or libellous by any offended party, not just the Library. Library social media channels may not be used for commercial or political purposes. The Library reserves the right to post, refuse, remove, or limit comments at any time without notice. Offenders may be banned at the Library’s discretion.
Comments, posts, and messages are welcome as long as they do not include:
- Personal attacks, insults, or discriminatory language based on protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Profanity, abusive behaviour, or threats
- Plagiarized or copyrighted material, or content that violates intellectual property rights
- Private or personal information shared without consent
- Commercial promotions, solicitation, or spam
- Sexually explicit content or links
- Proselytizing or religious promotion
- Political campaigning or election-related messaging
- Illegal activity or the encouragement of unlawful behaviour
- Content that compromises public safety or security
The Library does not verify the accuracy or reliability of user-generated content, opinions, or credentials. External links are provided for convenience; when you click an external link, you leave the Library’s website and social media space. The Library assumes no responsibility for those external pages, their content, or any products or services they promote.the Library assumes no responsibility for their content and does not endorse businesses, advertisements, goods, or services. The Library is not responsible for the accuracy, security, or viewpoints expressed on external websites.
While the Library aims to share accurate and reliable information, we are not responsible for errors or how posted information is used. All information shared by the Library is believed to be accurate and will be updated or corrected as needed. However, the Library is not responsible for any damages that result from the use of, or reliance on, information on our platforms. Materials may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only, with all copyright and proprietary notices maintained.
Messages sent through email or social media do not constitute legal notice to the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library or any of its officers, employees, or representatives for any claims, demands, or legal matters requiring formal notice under federal, provincial, or municipal law.
