INNISFIL IDEALAB & LIBRARY IS FINE FREE!
The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library no longer charges overdue fines on books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and games. We know that you do your best to bring things back before the due date, but sometimes life gets in the way. That shouldn’t mean you can’t use your Library.
WHY?
Not everyone can afford to pay overdue fines, and that’s often the people who need our services the most. We never want another resident of Innisfil to tell us they stopped bringing their children to borrow books because they can’t afford the overdue fines.
Overdue fines don’t work. Numerous libraries have gone fine free in the last few years, and people still return the materials, the number of lost items doesn’t change.
ACCESS FOR ALL!
Everyone should be able to access the materials, services, and programs that support their educational, career, family, and life goals. We want all residents to have the same opportunity to participate in everything we offer, and to be part of this great community.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
You will no longer be charged a daily fee when materials are returned late
You’re still responsible for returning materials!
If they are 3 weeks late, you’ll be billed for the replacement fee
Bring them back before they’re 6 weeks late, and the replacement fees will disappear: you won’t owe us anything

DO YOU HAVE A LONG OVERDUE ITEM?
We just want you to start using your Library again, so stop feeling guilty that you kept that book for waaaay too long. It’s okay. Bring it back, and all is forgiven.
And if you lost it entirely, get in touch. We’ll figure it out together.
