Community Led Groups

The Library is home to a number of community groups who host their meetings at library branches.  Information about currently active groups is listed below.

Knitting Club Alcona

This drop-in group gets together Tuesday evenings for a knit and natter at the Lakeshore branch.  Join their Facebook group for updates, or drop in with your yarn and needles and introduce yourself.

Lakeshore: Tuesdays at 7pm

Adult Colouring Club

Bring your favourite colouring book, snack, hot beverage, and fancy pencil crayons — you know, the ones you don’t share with the kids.  Enjoy a relaxing evening with conversation and unlimited pencil sharpening.

Stroud: Tuesdays at 7pm

Innis-Fill in the Lines

Looking for a colouring group close to home? Join us at the Lakeshore Branch Tuesday evenings and bring your supplies! All ages are welcome — kids bring your parents — and join other local colourers!

Lakeshore: Tuesdays at 7:30pm

Song Circle

Join us to play or listen. Bring your favorite acoustic instruments. Guitar players, fiddlers, mandolin players, ukulele, banjo and percussion.

Lakeshore: Second Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm

Drum Circle

Calling all hand drummers and percussionists!  Bring your instruments and join in the monthly Drum Circle led by DrumUnity at the Lakeshore Branch.  Open to all ages and all skill levels.

Lakeshore: Third Friday of month at 7:15pm

Innisfilm

Are you interested in acting? Directing? Screen-writing? Lighting?  Innisfilm connects people with an interest in any area of film production, so they can get together and make their films!  Meetings are held monthly at the Lakeshore Branch and members are encouraged to bring their project ideas to the table. Let the inner filmmaker out. Let the inner actor out. Let the interest grow and join Innisfilm!  New members are encouraged to pitch their project idea and who knows? It could be Innisfilm’s next production!

Lakeshore: Last Friday of each month at 7pm
