Angela Aujla 2022/2023

About the Artist

Angela Aujla is a local visual artist. Her work ranges from mixed media drawing to photo-based digital collage. Alongside her practice as a visual artist, she is also a Liberal Arts professor at Georgian College. Angela’s artwork is informed by her academic practice in sociology and anthropology and explores the complexities of history, memory, culture, and identity. Angela’s work has been exhibited widely including the MacLaren Art Centre, OCAD University, and UC Berkeley. Her art has been featured in publications such as the Times of India (Delhi), Scroll Magazine (Delhi), Gal-Dem (UK), Canadian Woman Studies (Toronto), and is part of Humber College’s permanent art collection. She has also illustrated numerous book covers, and recently illustrated an animated short for Historica Canada.
