Prompt Chosen: A Heron in Flight with water, trees

Title of work: Willow Trees with Great Blue Herons, Ontario Fall

What inspired you to choose this prompt?

I did like many prompts that I was given but the reason why I chose A Heron in Flight with water, trees was due to the natural elements. These elements, though simplistic, allowed me to grow on the original prompt with more detail in pattern and incorporating more of Ontario’s nature.

Tatyana Abel is a local artist who has recently returned from her time abroad. Due to her traveling lifestyle she has condensed her work into a portable package of a watercolour palette, paintbrushes and paper. Her passion is observing the world around her and sharing these natural mysteries in her work. This has been an occurring pattern since school at Georgian College and upcoming graduation transferred to the Degree program to NSCAD University. She then carried on her personal practice in the Barrie area which included her in shows in the area. Montreal was her next adventure and she landed a position as a Mosaicist working with other artists creating Internationally known-artists work. Eventually, her call of adventure led her to British Columbia and then the United Kingdom where she began her current watercolor series of floral mandalas.
