APPLICATIONS FOR THE INNISFIL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD NOW OPEN!

INNISFIL, ON (October 6, 2022) – Libraries are powerful places that can transform communities by connecting people with one another and with the wider world through technology, information, and art; and you can be a part of it! The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library and Town of Innisfil is now inviting Innisfil residents to apply for membership on the Innisfil Public Library Board.

Members of the Innisfil Public Library Board are passionate community advocates and join an innovative, collaborative team. Board members play a vital role in setting the strategic directions of the Library and ensure that our work is aligned with the needs of the community.

The Board is composed of two Municipal Councillors and seven Innisfil residents. Membership lasts for 4 years, concurrent with the term of Innisfil Town Council. Successful applicants will be appointed by the Town of Innisfil Council.

Legal Requirements

Under the terms of the Public Libraries Act in Ontario public library board members must be:

  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
  • Resident of the Town of Innisfil;
  • At least 18 years of age;
  • Not be employed by the Innisfil Public Library or Town of Innisfil.
